Upon a tender launched by CISP, BTD was awarded the contract for designing El Minieh and Bhanine water system and supervising their construction. The project consists in allocating new water sources to supply the two localities and in conveying them to the existing reservoirs of the two localities.

Extensive geological and hydrogeological surveys were performed for the purpose of selecting 2 sites for drilling 2 water wells after having defined their depths and their yields.

These wells have been tested in October 2015 and yielded the first a flow of 35 l/sec and the second a flow of 25 l/sec.

Hydraulic designs were made to size the electromechanical equipments and the lift line, ender documents for the construction works were prepared and BTD contributed in evaluating the contractors proposals and finally supervised the construction works. Works have been handed over to the Water Establishment on March 24, 2016.

The cost of the works was 2.3 MUSD
