The Bureau Technique pour le Développement (BTD) has been awarded by AFD (Agence Française de Développement) the project entitled « Etude de faisabilité d’un projet d’assainissement à Ersaal Liban) » to study and provide wastewater collection schemes including treatment plant for the region.
The objective of the project is to study the feasibility of constructing a network for the collection of the wastewater and a plant for its treatments with the possibility of using the treated wastewater for irrigation. In addition, the objective of the project is to complete the construction of the water distribution network capable of covering the water needs of the locality up to year 2045 and to develop consequently new water sources.
The cost of works has been estimated 42 Million Euro as well as the cost of the operation and maintenance of the facilities. An important part of the study focused on the social condition and on the affordability of the beneficiary and their wiliness to pay the water tariff that has been evaluated in the study for up to year 2035.
