Bureau Technique pour le Développement (BTD) engineers acting as the supervising engineers of Maaroub regional reservoirs construction project and EL Bass pumping station rehabilitation project, in South Lebanon, for UNICEF, had the honor and the pleasure of showing the construction sites and making a presentation of these two under construction projects, to the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ms. Yuki Muku and the president and General Manager of South Lebanon Water Establishment, Dr. Wassim Daher.
During these visits, BTD engineers toured through:
- The works carried out at the El Bass pumping station which feeds water to three major area of Tyr city.
- The works at Maaroub, where two concrete regional reservoirs of 2,500 m3 capacity each are under construction. The purpose of these two reservoirs is to supply water to 10 localities which population is estimated at 120,000 in 2035. The water sources lifted to these reservoirs are those extracted from Yanouh (Ouadi Jilo) pumping station.
